The Global Institute for Energy, Minerals & Society (GIEMS) is seeking a qualified proponent to assess the business and economic considerations for a potential nuclear research reactor at the University of Saskatchewan’s Saskatoon campus. The assessment will examine operating models, long-term operating and lifecycle costs, potential revenue streams, utilization and demand assumptions, workforce and training requirements, transition costs, and other factors affecting long-term economic sustainability. The work will also analyze financial and operational risks, economic assumptions, cost-recovery opportunities, and conditions needed to support a sustainable operating model, and will deliver an integrated FEL-1 business costing model with applicable cost and schedule inputs to inform the broader FEL-1 feasibility assessment and potential advancement to FEL-2.
