The Global Institute for Energy, Minerals & Society (GIEMS) is seeking a qualified proponent to assess the research, testing and training applications of a potential nuclear research reactor at the University of Saskatchewan's Saskatoon campus as part of the FEL-1 feasibility study. The assessment will evaluate current and prospective users, research and testing applications, training opportunities, potential utilization, and the supporting facilities, equipment, infrastructure, and operational requirements, and will consider integration with existing campus and research infrastructure, quality assurance and control, data integrity, research governance requirements, institutional capacity, and potential capability gaps. The findings will contribute to the overall FEL-1 feasibility assessment and identify conditions, uncertainties, and further analysis required to consider advancing the project to FEL-2; interested proponents should review the full RFP for scope, deliverables, qualifications, and submission requirements.
