The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) is seeking a supplier for an independent geoscientific advisory group (Phase V) to provide independent advice and support technical reviews related to the long-term management of used nuclear fuel and the Nuclear Waste Management Organization’s (NWMO) Deep Geological Repository (DGR) project. The group will develop an annual work plan with CNSC staff and carry out tasks such as advising on CNSC technical reviews of NWMO’s integrated impact assessment and licence application, reviewing CNSC and NWMO geoscientific research and reports, attending seminars, and conducting focused literature and report reviews. The proposed contract is for three years starting April 1, 2027, with an estimated value of $450,000 (taxes extra); ownership of foreground intellectual property will vest in the contractor.
