About

Public Health Agency of Canada awarded a contract to Canadian Paediatric Society for pediatric hospital surveillance data on vaccine-preventable diseases.

The contractor will provide comprehensive and prospective monitoring of selected serious childhood conditions of public health importance, including data on all hospitalized cases and/or cases presenting to an emergency department for invasive pneumococcal disease, invasive Haemophilus influenzae, pertussis, varicella, invasive group A streptococcal disease, and acute flaccid paralysis.

This supports PHAC's surveillance function and its work with provincial and territorial public health authorities to prevent, reduce, or eliminate vaccine-preventable and respiratory infectious diseases.

The contract value is $3,189,029.37.
