Northern Municipal Trust Account (NMTA) is seeking a contractor to provide wildfire mitigation work in the Hamlet of Timber Bay, including forest vegetation thinning, fire guard construction, vegetation maintenance and brush pile burning. The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is the project manager and, under contract to NMTA, will be responsible for contract coordination and oversight. This work is part of year eight of a nine-year program to increase wildfire resilience for Saskatchewan communities by reducing potential wildfire impacts on critical infrastructure, creating clean, park-like areas that will not carry wildfire well, and improving safety for responding agencies and evacuees. The project is funded in part by the Government of Canada.
