Tender: Wildfire Mitigation Thinning and Brush Pile Burning – Hamlet of Stony Rapids

Northern Municipal Trust Account (NMTA) is seeking a contractor to provide wildfire mitigation services in the Hamlet of Stony Rapids as part of year eight of a nine-year program. The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), under contract to NMTA, will be responsible for project coordination and oversight. The scope includes forest vegetation thinning, fire guard construction, vegetation maintenance and brush pile burning to increase wildfire resilience for the community, reduce potential impacts on critical infrastructure, and create a clean, parklike area that will not carry wildfire. The work is intended to improve safety for responding agencies and those evacuating because of an incident and is funded in part by the Government of Canada.
