The Province of Alberta is seeking a contractor to provide high-quality, reliable sanitation and cleaning services for the Bio Processing Innovation Centre (BPIC) at 5520 – 36 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, covering pilot-scale processing machines and equipment. Services include general cleaning, equipment cleaning and specialized sanitation for processing rooms and equipment, which may involve wet processing, industrial application, extraction and purification, freeze drying and spray dryer, wiped film evaporator and reactors, processing tanks and hoses, processing pumps, testing and analysis equipment, formulation/scale-up equipment for cosmetic/personal care products, NNHP development/manufacturing/filling equipment, packaging and labeling equipment, and floors. Work may require the use of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and entry into confined spaces, and all sanitation activities must follow the facility’s Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and applicable health and safety requirements. Services are generally performed late in the day after BPIC business hours (typically Monday–Friday from 4:30 pm until completion) and may be required on weekends; normal scheduling provides two days’ notice and emergencies require 24 hours’ notice. The number of hours varies week to week; the Province has requested but does not guarantee approximately 1,200 hours per year (about 24 hours per week based on 50 weeks).
