Alberta Environment and Protected Areas’ Resource Stewardship Division is seeking a qualified commercial laboratory to provide analytical services for the determination of parent and alkylated polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs) in biological tissues to support multiple environmental monitoring programs in the Alberta Oil Sands Region. The contract covers receiving, homogenizing, extracting and analyzing biological samples, including whole fish and fish tissue, collected under approved monitoring work plans to evaluate spatial and temporal PAC distribution, and must follow the analytical requirements set out in the RFP and the detailed Scope of Services (Appendix B).

This tender is suited to commercial environmental analytical laboratories with capacity to process whole-fish and tissue samples and to analyze parent and alkylated PACs; key considerations include meeting the RFP’s specified analytical requirements and Scope of Services, demonstrating sample-handling and laboratory capacity for multiple monitoring programs in the Alberta Oil Sands Region.
