Tender: Emergency Spill Response System for Lakes and Rivers — Rapid Contaminant Transport and Impact Assessment

Supplier needed to develop an operational Emergency Spill Response System (ESRS) capable of rapidly simulating the transport and fate of contaminants in lakes and rivers and automatically assessing impacts to drinking water intakes and the Great Lakes ecosystem. The ESRS must be built on the MIKE 3 hydrodynamic modelling framework and use a real-time decision support platform (e.g., REDiT or equivalent) to integrate live monitoring data, automated meteorological and hydrological forecast ingestion, and contaminant transport modelling into a single web-based system that authorized responders can use 24/7 without being modellers. The system must be able to utilize existing EcoLab templates to model contaminants of concern, including hydrocarbons, sulphate, and mercury, and will replace a legacy specialised system that required modelling expertise, manual data inputs, and could not model emerging contaminants.
