The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) is seeking qualified individuals to serve as contracted Designated Representatives (DR) to represent persons who are unable to represent themselves in IRB immigration and refugee proceedings. DRs are responsible for protecting and advancing the interests of the person subject to proceedings and must demonstrate sound judgment, knowledge of immigration and refugee processes, cultural competence and the ability to work with vulnerable populations; experience in social work, immigration law, advocacy or related fields is considered an asset. This competitive solicitation (issued March 4, 2026, amended June 9, 2026) anticipates an application deadline of December 31, 2026 and seeks up to 100 resulting contracts on an as-needed basis across Eastern (Quebec: Montreal and Ottawa; Atlantic provinces), Central (Ontario: Toronto and Greater Toronto Area) and Western (British Columbia: Vancouver; Alberta: Calgary, Edmonton; Saskatchewan; Manitoba: Winnipeg) regions.
