Environment and Climate Change Canada is seeking a supplier to measure ambient benzene concentrations at gasoline dispensing facilities to improve understanding of human health implications and to validate the efficacy of emissions control equipment where installed. The work involves measuring benzene and, where feasible, other VOCs or total VOCs at stations before, during and after gasoline deliveries in accordance with the Statement of Work, with the contract to commence upon notification of acceptance and be completed no later than March 31, 2027; sampling is ideally conducted in the Ottawa–Gatineau area.
This could be ideal for environmental monitoring contractors or laboratories experienced in ambient air sampling and VOC/benzene analysis at gasoline stations. Key considerations include coordinating sampling around gasoline delivery schedules, capacity to measure benzene and other VOCs as specified, and meeting the project completion deadline of March 31, 2027, with operations preferably in the Ottawa–Gatineau area.
