About

The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Atikokan‑Dryden‑Fort Frances District is seeking a contractor to rehabilitate the Wagita Bay Concrete Dam, a gravity dam at the north end of Steep Rock Lake (West Arm) approximately 10 km northwest of the Town of Atikokan (UTM 15U N5408889 E0597601). Work includes design and installation of temporary cofferdams, design and installation of a dewatering and flow diversion system, partial‑depth concrete demolition and repairs, demolition and removal of a portion of the existing concrete dam down to bedrock, foundation grouting, construction of a new concrete gravity dam section, and supply and installation of post‑tensioned anchors. The dam site is accessible via the Rifle Lake Access Road from Highway 622, which the MNR maintains in spring, summer and fall but does not plow or maintain in winter.
