Alberta Forestry and Parks is seeking contractors to provide Wildland Engines (Types 4, 5, 6 and 7) and Tenders (Tactical Types 1 and 2) with trained personnel to support wildfire presuppression and suppression in Alberta’s Forest Protection Area (FPA). This is a one-year Agreement with the possibility of two one-year extensions; contractors are placed on a call rotation list within a single Forest Area and there is no guarantee of work. Payment is based on the Schedule A list by equipment Type; contractors must submit documentation to their local Forest Area to qualify, including evidence of engine/tender Type (Schedule A), proof of training and service history (Schedule C), a valid COR or SECOR or equivalent recognized by the Alberta Workplace Health and Safety Partnerships Program, and the certificate of insurance required in Schedule E. All engines, tenders and equipment must be well maintained before services commence, and personnel must meet Schedule C standards and have appropriate personal safety equipment. Contractors may only hold one contract with one Forest Area and contact information is provided in the Agreement; the "Interested Bidders" button only registers for email updates.

This could be ideal for contractors who already operate Type 4–7 wildland engines or Tactical Type 1–2 tenders and who hold COR/SECOR (or equivalent) and appropriate insurance. Key considerations include the one-contract-per-Forest-Area rule, no guaranteed work (placement on a call rotation list), strict documentation and training requirements per Schedules A and C, and the need to keep equipment and crews well maintained and properly equipped.
