The Government of Canada is seeking a supplier to resupply Signal Distress Day & Night No.1 Mk5 survival signals, waterproof tubular canisters containing a flare at one end and a smoke signal at the other, used to alert potential rescuers and packaged in life rafts aboard CAF aircraft and carried by aircrews, soldiers and sailors. The requirement includes a firm quantity of 2 inert cutaway units for delivery to Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot (CFAD) Dundurn, Dundurn, Saskatchewan between 01 September 2027 and 30 November 2027; a funded quantity of 4,320 units per year for deliveries to CFAD Dundurn between 01 September and 30 November in 2027 and 2028; and an unfunded optional quantity of 4,320 units per year for deliveries between 01 September and 30 November in 2029 and 2030. This procurement is classified under pyrotechnics/ammunition (GSIN: N1370; UNSPSC: 46101600), is subject to the Controlled Goods Program, has no security requirements, allows documents in either official language of Canada, and states that the Crown retains the right to negotiate and that Canadian suppliers as well as suppliers of applicable trading partners and non-trading partners are eligible.

This opportunity could suit manufacturers or authorized distributors of maritime and aviation survival pyrotechnics with experience handling Controlled Goods and the capacity for annual bulk deliveries to CFAD Dundurn; key considerations include compliance with the Controlled Goods Program, safe handling and storage of pyrotechnic/ammunition items, and meeting the specified delivery windows to CFAD Dundurn.
