About

SaskPower is seeking a supplier for the supply and delivery of seven (7) VFD-rated electric motors to replace cooling tower fan motors at Shand Power Station, located about 10 kilometres southeast of the corporate limits of Estevan, Saskatchewan. The motors must be suitable for operation on modern variable frequency drive systems within a generating station environment and meet the following electrical requirements: 250 HP (186.5 kW ±5%) rated output, 575 V 3-phase 60 Hz, 1,800 RPM ±5% speed, 4 poles, full load current 221 A ±5%, locked rotor current 1,460 A ±5%, minimum 1.0 service factor on inverter duty operation, Class F insulation or better, and frame size 449TS. Preferred delivery for all motors is 15 February 2027 to support installation during the 2027 summer and fall maintenance seasons; the contract runs December 2026 through 2027 and will use a unit rate payment structure.
