Shared Health is seeking information from suppliers to investigate and plan the future state of its Computed Tomography program across the Province of Manitoba as the current agreement expires January 31, 2028. Shared Health intends to replace CT systems in two categories: standard scanners — mid-to-high end units for community and rural hospitals that deliver high-quality images for emergency, inpatient and outpatient exams but do not require advanced cardiac imaging; and advanced scanners — high-end units for acute, academic sites capable of complex studies including advanced cardiac imaging.
This RFI is most relevant to suppliers and manufacturers of CT equipment that offer mid-to-high end and high-end scanner solutions for hospital settings; key considerations include the January 31, 2028 contract expiry and the distinct technical requirements for community/rural versus acute academic sites (standard scanners do not need advanced cardiac capability, advanced scanners must support complex cardiac studies).
