Tender: Powerhouse Chiller and Pump Replacement – Edmonton Government Centre

Government of Alberta is seeking a contractor to remove two existing chillers and the associated condenser water and chilled water pumps and install replacement chillers and pumps within the active Powerhouse at the Edmonton Government Centre. Work must be planned and coordinated so the Powerhouse remains operational and Government of Alberta personnel can continue occupancy, with system operation maintained throughout the project except for approved outages; replacement equipment and controls must maintain the operational functionality of the systems being replaced and integrate with existing operational practices and remote operating capabilities. The controls design must be compatible with the existing Delta EMCS platform used throughout the Powerhouse, including the Cooling Tower system. Scheduling and sequencing must account for seasonal operating requirements and cooling demands, and proponents should account for possible sequencing that leaves portions of the existing cooling system operational or requires portions of the new system to be commissioned and operational by Fall 2027 while other construction continues.
