Tender: Pan Am Pool Main Tank Renewal – Waterproofing, Tile Replacement, Stairs, Dive Tower and Concrete Repairs

City of Winnipeg is seeking a contractor for renewal of the Pan Am Pool main tank during a partial facility closure. The work includes removal and replacement of the mortar bed, waterproofing, ceramic tiles and grout throughout the main tank and adjacent deck areas; removal, salvage, storage and re-installation of pool entry stairs, starting blocks and stainless steel springboard supports (the City will remove, salvage, store and reinstall certain access fixtures but the contractor is responsible for replacing anchors embedded in concrete and mortar/tile bed); removal, refurbishment and re-installation of springboards; supply and installation of replacement pool stair railings; removal and replacement of rope anchors and deck fixture anchors; removal and replacement of pool system plumbing fixtures and deck floor drains; removal and infilling of through-tank wall light fixtures and through-tank windows; shoring or removal, salvage, protection, storage and reinstallation of tank divider bulkheads; removal and replacement of dive tower platform flooring; removal and replacement of specified guard rails on Platforms A and B with stainless steel guard rails and glazing; concrete repairs to the pool deck, tank walls and floor, diving tower (Platform B) and 3m springboard platform structure (Platform A) and application of replacement coating at those repair locations; removal and replacement of the pool area grounding system; implementation of specified PCB, lead and silica abatement procedures during applicable removals and demolition; development and maintenance of safety, health, site security and site access plans; provision of temporary access tunnels and maintenance of a targeted access plan so partial public access can be managed. Work must follow the City of Winnipeg Green Building Policy and Universal Design Policy. Funds available for the contract are $5,650,000.00.
