Lacombe County is seeking a supplier to conduct the Gull Lake Water and Wastewater Regional Feasibility Study, a regional planning initiative managed by Lacombe County in partnership with the Town of Bentley, the Summer Village of Gull Lake, Ponoka County, and the Summer Village of Parkland Beach. The study will investigate the technical and financial feasibility of unified, multi-jurisdictional water and wastewater transmission and collection systems to address environmental protection and lake water quality concerns, existing infrastructure challenges, the lack of municipal water and wastewater services in the Summer Villages and several residential communities within Lacombe and Ponoka Counties, and critical capacity limits projected for the Town of Bentley based on a 2022 servicing study. The long-term vision is to establish reliable, high-capacity utility services by sourcing treated potable water and providing regional wastewater treatment.

This could be valuable for engineering and consulting firms experienced in regional water and wastewater planning and multi-jurisdictional infrastructure projects; main considerations include addressing lake water quality and environmental protection, evaluating technical and financial viability across multiple municipalities, and planning for Bentley’s projected capacity constraints identified in the 2022 servicing study.
