Tender: FMC Alberta Surgical Initiative — McCaig Tower Level 5 & 6 Operating Rooms and Systems Upgrades

EllisDon Construction Services Inc., on behalf of Alberta Infrastructure, is seeking a contractor to deliver surgical capacity and building systems upgrades under the Alberta Surgical Initiative to reduce elective surgery wait times. The work includes a basement medical vacuum tie-in to the existing hospital system; a McCaig Tower 3rd floor clinical engineering renovation to create more usable space; development of shelled space on McCaig Tower 5th floor into 11 operating rooms (2 Interventional, 2 Isolation, 1 Airborne Isolation, and 6 General), 17 post-anesthetic care patient spaces and 5 pre-operative patient spaces; creation of Level 6 interstitial space for mechanical and electrical services including 11 dedicated air handling units serving the operating rooms; and a new air handling unit on McCaig Tower 8th floor to support the shelled areas. The project also includes clinical, mechanical and electrical system upgrades and integration with existing hospital infrastructure, including mechanical and electrical tie-ins, required shutdowns, testing, balancing, commissioning and turnover activities.
