Tender: Financial Consultant Services for Farm Debt Mediation in Alberta (FDMS)

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (Programs Branch) is seeking a supplier for professional financial counselling and mediation services to support the Farm Debt Mediation Service (FDMS) in Alberta on an as-and-when requested basis. The requirement is to establish Task Authorization Contracts intended to result in the award of four contracts for a five-year period. FDMS offers free, voluntary and confidential financial counselling and mediation to farmers who are having difficulties meeting their financial obligations; the FDMS Administrator assigns a Financial Consultant and a Mediator to each case and information obtained is used solely for the purpose of mediation and shared only among the parties involved. The Financial Consultant will conduct site visits, inventory farm assets, prepare financial statements for the farming operation, develop recovery plans to pursue financial arrangements with creditors, and attend mediation meetings, while the Mediator will draw up any agreed arrangement.
