Tender: Feasibility Study to Increase Zone 1 (South) Water Reservoir Capacity – City of Spruce Grove

The City of Spruce Grove is seeking a consultant to assess future potable water storage requirements for pressure Zone 1 and to provide a conceptual sizing and location study for increasing the Zone 1 (south) reservoir capacity. The city currently receives potable water from the Capital Region Parkland Water Services Commission (CRPWSC) system, sourced by EPCOR, and stores it primarily in the Zone 1 reservoir; recent decommissioning of Cell 1-1 reduced total south reservoir capacity from 43,000 m3 to approximately 34,000 m3, and Cell 1-2—providing about 14,000 m3—is approaching the end of its life. The north reservoir in Zone 2 provides roughly 6,819 m3 of storage and is fed from Zone 1 via a 600 mm distribution main, and its reservoir component is also nearing design life and expected to be decommissioned. Given these current and anticipated storage reductions, the study must determine future storage needs under a built-out scenario and propose conceptual sizing and potential locations to restore or increase capacity.
