Tender: Conversion of SAB Basement Room B-52 into Electrical Room and Installation of Two Sectionalizer Switchgear – University of Alberta

The University of Alberta is seeking a supplier to convert Room B-52 in the South Academic Building (SAB) basement into an electrical room and to install two new Sectionalizer switchgear units to upgrade existing equipment currently in the North Power Plant that is past its expected service life. The project scope covers room adjustments and interior placement of the switchgear, plus minor patching, repair and refinishing of walls and ceilings where new or altered mechanical and electrical work affects existing finishes; connections from the switchgear to electrical services outside Room B-52 are excluded and will be completed under a separate project. Several cores through the north retaining have already been cut to allow future connections, and the Hazmat Asbestos Bulk Sampling report (which did not identify asbestos in fireproofing, duct mastic, and pipe fittings) is appended to the RFP construction documents.
