The Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service is seeking service providers to join a roster to deliver body transportation services for Phase 1 urban catchment areas in the province of Ontario. The OCC/OFPS investigates deaths that appear unnatural or sudden and unexpected pursuant to the Coroners Act, and this opportunity requests providers to transport human remains for further investigation (including post‑mortem examination and identification), remove human remains from public places for storage, further examination, or identification, and transport human remains with no identified claimant as required by the General Inspector of Anatomy under the Anatomy Act to a secure storage facility. The opportunity is open to new service providers and encourages responses from providers who previously held Phase 1 (OCC-0030) or Phase 1 Refresh (OCC-0044) agreements.

This tender is most relevant to service providers experienced in the secure transportation and storage of human remains and able to work with coronial and forensic authorities in Ontario; key considerations include legal compliance with the Coroners Act and the Anatomy Act, handling sensitive removals from public places, and coordination with investigative and forensic processes.
